Product Introduction
35kV / S9, S11, S13, S20, S22 series are three-phase oil-immersed, double-winding, no-excited voltage regulation (conventional type) power transformers. They are the mainstream energy-saving products for power grids and industrial power supply in China, designed and manufactured in accordance with GB 20052-2020 "Energy Efficiency Limits and Energy Efficiency Grades for Power Transformers" and GB1094 "Power Transformers".
Voltage combination: High voltage 35 ± 2 × 2.5%/38.5 ± 2 × 2.5 kV, low voltage 0.4 kV
Capacity range: 50 - 31500 kVA (commonly 50 - 6300 kVA)
Connection group designation: Dyn11 (mainstream), Yyn0
Cooling method: ONAN (oil-immersed self-cooling)
Voltage regulation method: No-excited voltage regulation (model without "Z")
II. Core parameters and technical features of each model
1. S9 series (early standard type, gradually phased out)
Energy efficiency grade: Original national standard level 3 (lower than current GB20052-2020 level 2)
Core: Traditional high-quality grain-oriented silicon steel sheet, full bevel joint, laminated structure

2. S11 series (current mainstream, level 2 energy efficiency)

Core: High magnetic conductivity silicon steel sheet (30ZH120), full inclined multi-level stepped joint, no-hole binding, low magnetic flux density design
Loss:
No-load loss: About 30% lower than S9
Load loss: About 15% lower than S9
Features: Low loss, low noise, high cost performance; mainstream selection for power grids, residential areas, industrial and mining.
3. S13 series (high-efficiency energy-saving, level 1 energy efficiency)
Energy efficiency grade: GB20052-2020 level 1 energy efficiency
Core: Ultra-high magnetic conductivity silicon steel sheet (23ZH100) or amorphous alloy; some adopt three-dimensional rolled core (no joint, low magnetic resistance)
Loss:
No-load loss: About 30% - 40% lower than S11
Load loss: About 10% - 15% lower than S11
Features: Ultra-low loss, ultra-low noise (≤ 55 dB); suitable for scenarios with large load fluctuations, long-term operation, and sensitivity to noise (hospitals, schools, data centers).
4. S20 series (super level 1 energy efficiency, benchmark type)
Energy efficiency grade: Super level 1 (better than national standard level 1)
Core: Top-level high magnetic conductivity silicon steel sheet, five-level joint, no laminated upper iron yoke, low magnetic flux density
Winding: High-purity non-oxygenated copper, foil winding / spiral type, low resistance design
Loss:
No-load: About 10% - 15% lower than S13
Load: About 15% - 20% lower than S13
Features: High energy efficiency, long life, high short-circuit resistance; suitable for high load rate, high electricity price, large industrial / power grid hub.
5. S22 series (top energy efficiency, cutting-edge type)
Energy efficiency grade: Top energy efficiency (far superior to level 1)
Materials and processes:
Core: Amorphous alloy + top-grade silicon steel, fully three-dimensional rolled
Winding: High-purity non-oxygenated copper, self-adhesive interchanged wires
Loss:
No-load: About 20% - 25% lower than S13
Load: About 25% - 30% lower than S13
Features: Ultimate energy saving, ultra-low noise, high reliability; high investment, extremely strong long-term economic performance, suitable for key energy-saving projects, green parks, data centers.
III. Comparison of Losses and Energy Efficiency
Taking the commonly used 35kV voltage level and 1000kVA capacity transformer as the reference, the no-load and load losses of the S9 series are at the earlier conventional benchmark level. The overall total loss is relatively high and only meets the old version of the third-level energy efficiency standard. This is the basic reference value for comparison. The S11 series has reached the current national standard of second-level energy efficiency. The no-load loss of the S11 series is reduced by approximately 30% compared to the S9 series, and the load loss has also decreased significantly. The total loss has decreased significantly, and the energy-saving effect is relatively prominent. The S13 series belongs to the national standard of first-level energy efficiency products. The no-load loss is further reduced by 30% to 40% compared to the S11 series, and the load loss has also been optimized by 10% to 15%. The total loss compared to the S9 series has decreased by more than 30%, and the energy-saving and noise reduction advantages are significant. The S20 series is an ultra-first-level energy efficiency product. The loss indicators are better than the requirements of the first-level energy efficiency. The overall loss is further reduced, and the energy consumption control during long-term operation is more outstanding. The S22 series is the current top energy efficiency product. The no-load loss is reduced by 20% to 25% compared to the S13 series, and the load loss is reduced by 25% to 30%. The total loss compared to the S9 series has decreased by nearly 50%, and the energy-saving level reaches the industry-leading level. Overall, from S9 to S22, as the model number increases, the no-load loss and load loss gradually decrease, and the energy efficiency level continuously improves, with the energy-saving effect enhancing in a stepwise manner.
